Te Araroa 2.0 – 2023

Yes! I’m walking Te Araroa (TA) again!!

I’m so excited, the anticipation is much stronger. Mainly because the previous time I was also a bit scared. Walking 3000km across New Zealand by myself. Sure I was well prepared, but still it’s a dawning. But it turned out to be the best decision ever. The trail, the community and the country were all amazing and I fell deeply in love with long distance hiking. In the meantime I did walk a few other trails, but nothing of this extent.

Still some of my friends were surprised. Why do something you’ve already seen? Because:

1) it will never be the same. Different things you notice, different weather and different company. So it will be a new experience, but with that will come all the great memories of last time

2) no snakes. Call me crazy, but the fact that you can walk through tall grass without any worries, is a great feeling.

I’m planning to start beginning of November. So subscribe on the homepage if you want to receive a notification when the blog starts.
